Laura Tato Fontaíña is a Professor of Galician and Portuguese Philology in the Department of Letters at UDC. Her main research line is the history of Galician drama and, within it, she has won the IV "Ricardo Carvalho Calero" Prize of Linguistic and Literary Research with the volume Teatro e Nacionalismo. Ferrol 1915-1936 (1995), and the XVIII “Vicente Risco” Prize of Social Sciences with the book Do teatro ao cinema. Obras dramáticas e guións de Ramón Otero Pedrayo (2014).

She is the author of monographs such as Historia do teatro galego. Das orixes a 1936 (1999); Teatro galego 1915-1936 (1997); Roberto Vidal Bolaño: unha vida para o teatro (2013); of several editions such as Luís Manteiga: Teatro galego (2003); Camino de Santiago, de Ramón Otero Pedrayo (2018) or O Cancioneiro de Pero Meendiz da Fonseca. Edición crítica (2007); and of research papers such as "Os vellos non deben de namorarse, de Castelao: xestación e recepción", published in Madrygal,  Revista de Estudios Gallegos (2019).
