Natalia Cea Rodríguez will present the lecture "Tecer redes desde a língua. Umha investigaçom qualitativa sobre a identidade linguística e cultural na adolescência".

Through this talk, we will approach the reality of Galician in the current educational system, about which multiple studies offer a discouraging panorama, revealing a concerning decline in the number of speakers, especially among children and adolescents.

In her research, Natalia Cea Rodríguez seeks to understand the narrative, approach, and personal history of a group of young people who are building their identity from a very specific cultural and linguistic foundation, different from what is considered ordinary. She also reflects on the presence or absence of conflicts when navigating the public education system in Galicia and coexisting with different linguistic ideologies and policies, as well as with the codes and hierarchies of the school itself.

Natalia Cea Rodríguez holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of A Coruña. She later completed a Master’s in Psychopedagogy, also at UDC. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Equity and Innovation in Education program (UDC), continuing the research line she began in her undergraduate and master’s theses. Additionally, she has been collaborating with the Galician Education Schools for several years, where she currently serves as the Pedagogical and Linguistic Coordinator.
