Carme Fernández Pérez-Sanjulián is a full professor in the area of ​​Galician and Portuguese Philology at the University of A Coruña.

Her main lines of research focus on the study of Galician and Portuguese literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as on the relationships between literary, cultural and political discourses, namely between identity and national construction. Her publications include A construcción nacional no discurso narrativo de Ramón Otero Pedrayo (Sempre en Galiza Prize 2002) and the critical edition of the piece Fígados de Tigre by Francisco Gomes de Amorim. She is currently leading two research projects on publishing in Galiza during the Franco regime.

Interested in the possibilities that new technologies offer for the diffusion and production of culture, another line of research in which she works is that of the Digital Humanities, in which she participates in several interdisciplinary projects. Her book Digital Libraries, in collaboration with Ángeles Saavedra, also focuses on this topic.
