Ensaísta e poeta is a compendium of unpublished essays by Sebastián Martínez-Risco, focusing in large part on the poets and folk poetry of Galicia, together with poems from the author’s own first youthful forays into literature (1916-1926). The anthology also includes the results of extensive research into newspaper coverage in Spain and Latin America of Martínez-Risco’s cultural activities and those of the Royal Galician Academy, and a selection of letters from the rich archive of correspondence between the author and prominent social and intellectual figures of the day.
