Xosé Ramón Freixeiro Mato investigates the authorship of three poetry texts, first published in the small Lugo almanac, Xuízos do Ano, in 1937, 1938 and 1939, and collected in O Gaiteiro de Lugo. Freixeiro Mato’s in-depth analysis of the language and style of the texts reveals that the author is not, as was previously thought, the poet Antonio Noriega Varela, from Mondoñedo (Lugo), but the scholar and author, Xosé Filgueira Valverde, from Pontevedra.
