Lingua e Teatro is a collection of papers from the 10th Conference on Language in Use: Language and Theatre, held at the University of A Coruña on 27-29 November 2013.

The volume presents a series of important analyses and reflections on the coupling of ‘language’ and ‘theatre’ (with all its implications), and comes as a timely addition to the current debate in academic circles concerning the quality of the language used in comedy, politics and public media generally, and the supposed conflict between the everyday language of the people on the street, and the need to protect the authenticity and integrity of oral Galician in the face of ongoing cultural and linguistic assimilation by Castilian.
