The final aim of this project is the production of an exhaustive, contextualized and dictionarised glossary of the Galician-Portuguese profane lyric corpus, consisted of more than 1200 songs (cantigas) belonging to the cantiga de amor, cantiga de amigo and some compositions closely connected with these genres like the pastorelas. In a future and complementary project, this dictionary would reach the complex satiric genres to complete the glossary of the Galician-Portuguese profane poetic corpus.

Necessarily, the production of this project, first part of the ‘dictionary’ of the Galician-Portuguese profane lyric will imply the linguistic study of the literary poetic language of the loving corpus with the consequent variations and diastratic, diatopic and diachronic evolutions. Obviously, this study must be approached by dealing with the metric, stylistic and rhetoric conditionings of its use as a poetic language.

It is also obvious that a collateral but indispensable objective leads to the critic review of the traditional fixation of the editorial vulgata of the corpus, so the production of the glossary will imply some modifications with textual relevance for the final aim that it’s trying to be reached.
