Alva Martínez Teixeiro teaches a course within the PUC-RS Postgraduate Prorgam in Letters

Alva Martínez Teixeiro, professor at the University of Lisbon and a member of ILLA, will teach the open course "Artistas Letrados e Letrados Artistas — Relações interartes na Literatura Brasileira (Séculos XX e XXI)".

The course of the Postgraduate Program in Letters of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul will run, via zoom, between October and December of this year, addressing the interartistic relations, between the visual and the verbal, established in Brazilian Literature in three periods notable for their extraordinary modernity and radicalism in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries: that of the neo-avant-garde, that of the counterculture and that of the so-called postmodernity.

For this multifaceted reflection, we start from several critical topoi and various significant examples:

1) Modernity, update of the paideuma, crisis of the verse, tension between rationalism and subjectivity, controversy and experimentation in the neo-avant-garde work of Ferreira Gullar.

2) Cultural response, denial of intellectual art, sensoryism and irrationalism, experiential and experimental proposals in the Faustian and hallucinatory interartistic interpretation of counterculture of Hélio Oiticica.

3) Postmodernity, hybridism, art in crisis, crisis of the subject and digital literature, in Brazilian contemporaneity and in the works of Laura Erber and Nuno Ramos.
